As we approach the end of another transformative year at MIMS, we invite you to support our mission to increase the number of underrepresented health professionals. The Impact of Your Contribution:

Every dollar raised during our fundraiser will directly support our initiatives aimed at empowering aspiring health professionals from diverse backgrounds. 

Our programs are designed in a relatable, real-world format, delivered by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who are passionate about creating meaningful, informative, and empowering learning experiences. Through hands-on learning, certifications, and shadowing opportunities, MIMS offers students the chance to truly 'step into the shoes of a health professional.' Here’s how your support makes a difference:

• Certifications: In 2024, MIMS certified over 500 individuals in essential health-related training, including CPR/AED, First Aid, Stop the Bleed, and Mental Health First Aid. These programs not only teach life-saving skills but also introduce participants to a variety of healthcare careers while nurturing vital soft skills such as active listening, effective communication, and teamwork. 

• Shadowing: Shadowing can be a truly transformative experience. For many of our participants, MIMS offers their first opportunity to observe direct patient care or engage with a healthcare professional—not as a patient, but as a future health professional. These experiences have the power to reinforce career goals or open opportunities to new pathways. 

• Hands-On Workshops: MIMS participants engage in hands-on workshops, including suturing, splinting, blood draws, and more. These experiences allow them to envision themselves in the operating room as a future surgeon or in the lab as a future phlebotomist. By practicing real skills used by healthcare professionals, participants build self-efficacy and confidence that help combat imposter syndrome and uncertainty, which so many of our young people face. MIMS creates a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that fosters growth, curiosity, and the courage to pursue healthcare careers with confidence

Sponsorship Levels:

Foundation Supporter - $250:Your donation covers the cost for one student to receive a 3-year certification in Mental Health First Aid and a 2-year certification in CPR/AED and First Aid. These two certifications provide participants with the skills to help in an emergency.

Empowerment Advocate - $500:Your donation covers the cost of supplies for up to 25 students in our suturing and splinting hands-on workshops. Participants get to step into the shoes of a health professional.

Lifesaver Sponsor - $750:Your donation funds a CPR/AED training course for 10 students, providing them with essential skills that can make a difference in emergencies.
Future Leader Sponsor - $1000:Your donation sponsors the stipend for one high school student in our flagship 5-week Summer Internship Program, offering hands-on clinical training and shadowing experiences in diverse healthcare settings - includes 5 certifications

Dream Builder Patron - $1500:
Your donation sponsors the stipend for one post-secondary student in our flagship 5-week Summer Internship Program, offering hands-on clinical training and shadowing experiences in diverse healthcare settings. (could also be two blood-draw arms) - includes 5 certifications
